I am a first year Disability Disciplines doctoral student in the Applied Behavior Analysis specialization working under the supervision of Dr. Sarah Bloom. I am conducting research related to the assessment and treatment of problem behavior, including: (a) evaluation of the efficacy of trial-based functional analyses conducted by teachers and care-providers not formally trained in applied behavior analysis methodology, and (b) investigation of the effects of non-contingent stimulus-reinforcer pairings on the persistence of problem behavior in extinction and relapse paradigms, and methods to abate those effects. I am also working on research related to factors that influence the efficacy or reinforcers. Additionally, I am interested in research designed to improve the efficiency with which independent living, vocational, and exercise/recreational skills are taught to adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
