Valerie graduated in December 2006 majoring in special education with an emphasis in severe disabilities. Her success stories are when students achieve their goals and she helps them to maximize their skills and abilities in the classroom and in the community. She loves working with students with disabilities.
Joann will graduate Spring 2007 from the Distance Mild/Moderate program with a teaching license in the area of mild/moderate disabilities. She worked at the Payson Jr. High School for six years in the Special Education Department as a para educator prior to returning to school. She has raised five children, served as a volunteer in various elementary schools, was active in the PTA where she served as president for one year and has traveled extensively with her family.
Kristin graduated Spring 2007 with a special education degree in the area of severe disabilities. She finds herself on a constant quest for knowledge and lives each day in order to learn new things.
Heather has substantially impacted numerous individuals by being a teacher and a role model. Heather has served for three years at Logan High School as a teacher of high school-age youth with severe disa bilities. She has created a synergy by convincing these youth, their parents and families, other teachers, and her colleagues nationwide that youth with severe disabilities can contribute in valuable and meaninfulways to their schools and communities. Heather is a student on a journey oflifelong learning. She is pursuing her Master's degree and will meet her timeline of graduating in Spring 2008.
